When my niece, Kelly, at the age of 44, called to tell me she had Breast Cancer, I cried and told her, I wish it were me instead, she was just too young. My next thoughts were, how can I help Kelly get thru this devastating time in her life. I wanted to be there with her during her chemo treatments, but what else can I do to help.

Ultimately, we knew she would lose her hair, so we went shopping for wigs. Kelly soon discovered that wigs were not the answer for her and looked for hair-loss alternatives. She started wearing scarves but realized now she would have to match them with the right color of shirts and began to get frustrated. She did not have the energy or the desire to get up in the morning and try to color coordinate what to wear when she barely had the energy to get up. I then went in search for materials in her favorite colors and had some scarves made for her. Soon, Kelly was putting together shirts and earrings to match and discovered that she felt better about herself even though she certainly did not feel well.

We soon began talking about how we could help other chemotherapy patients by helping them look good and feel better during this trying time. Our vision for helping others became our dream, our passion and finally a reality. Now, thru iwearitwell, there is a "look good and feel better" option for those affected by hair loss. Iwearitwell.com is dedicated to you. Wear it well and wear it to wellness.
